SelraizBot - what it reads and how to let it in

Short version: most sites need to do nothing. We read your pages from our servers without any change on your side. Only if setup tells you your site is “blocking automated visits” is the section below about letting us in worth reading.

What it does

SelraizBot visits a website only because the owner of that website, a Selraiz customer, asked it to: they pressed Scan my site, imported their products or added a page to their agent's training. After that it looks at those same pages at most once a day to notice when something has changed, and reads a changed page once more so the agent stays up to date, unless the owner has asked to approve changes themselves.

It reads public pages only. It never logs in, fills in forms, adds to a basket or checks out.
It reads a handful of pages at a time — up to 8 pages and 24 products per scan — never the whole site in one go.
It runs from our servers in Frankfurt, Germany.

How it identifies itself

It first asks for a page the way an ordinary browser does, because many sites show different content to anything that announces itself as a robot. If the site turns that visit away, it tries once more under its own name:

SelraizBot/1.0 (+https://selraiz.com/bot/)

The daily change check always uses that name. We do not publish a list of server addresses, because the addresses our servers use change; allow us by name, not by address.

If your firewall turns it away

Your firewall is doing its job, and we will never try to get round it. If you would like your agent to read your site automatically, add one rule that lets visits whose browser name contains SelraizBot through.

Cloudflare	Security → WAF → Custom rules → Create rule. Field User Agent, operator contains, value `SelraizBot`. Action Skip, and tick the bot protection and managed rules it offers to skip. On the free plan the basic “Bot Fight Mode” cannot be skipped by a rule; if it is on, use the paste route below.
Sucuri, Wordfence and similar	Add `SelraizBot` to the allowed user agents (sometimes called “allowlisted bots” or “trusted crawlers”).
Your hosting company	Send them this page and ask them to allow the user agent `SelraizBot` to read public pages.

A browser name can be copied by anyone, so keep the rule narrow: let it read pages, and leave your login, account, basket and checkout pages protected as they are. Nothing SelraizBot does needs them.

Then go back to the Training page in your dashboard and press Scan my site again.

Rather not change anything?

That is fine. On the Training page, open the page yourself, copy its text and paste it in, or upload a product file. Your agent learns it exactly the same way; it only takes a little longer.

Stopping it

SelraizBot only reads sites a Selraiz customer has pointed it at. If you see it on a site you did not sign up with us, write to hello@selraiz.com with your web address and we will stop it the same day.
